How Do I know this?
Because I've lived every part of this
I grew up as the kid with a learning disability label who beat all odds. I was an 80's latchkey kid with exhausted parents. I've sat through my own kids IEP meetings, fought for their fair treatment, and had plenty of moments of parent frustration followed by crushing guilt. I'm a certified yoga therapist who's worked with every type of family and child you can imagine. But mostly? I'm someone who knows what it feels like to hold everything together while dreaming of my own support system.
KIVA Resilience was created from my lived experience and years of supporting strong, capable caregivers who were completely overwhelmed. Through nervous system education, somatic yoga therapy, and real-life tools, I help you move from overwhelm to steadiness -without stepping away from the life that needs you.

When Erik joined KIVA Resilience program, everything revolved around survival.
He’d been sober for a while, but the old wiring hadn’t caught up.
He was a husband, a dad, a provider—but rest felt unsafe.
Stillness felt like failure. So we started small.

The first few weeks were about noticing—where tension lived, what triggered collapse, how the breath shortened when emotions rose. He learned to recognize his body before the story: this is anxiety, not truth.
By mid-program, the practice shifted from awareness to choice. When stress spiked, he used breath work instead of reaching for distraction. He reframed structure as safety, not threat. The shifts were quiet but undeniable. His wife noticed calm where there used to be sharpness. His kids noticed presence where there used to be distance. Erik noticed something radical: a nervous system that could finally settle. And so, forest walks became his recovery. |
He started documenting his time in the woods through journaling his thoughts first, then he added nature photography. Through his reflections and photographs, he now reminds others that the wilderness can heal what the world exhausts.

Are sessions online or in-person?
Both! Sessions can be in person or online via zoom. If hosted online, please have space where you can practice yoga and speak to the computer monitor. Full-ride KIVA mentees receive 6 sessions (scheduled bi-weekly) and weekly group Friday zooms or replays to compliment personal development -over the course of 3 months.
What does a yoga coaching session look like?
75-minute 1:1 sessions can be in person or online via zoom. If hosted online, please have space where you can practice yoga and speak to the computer monitor. Full-ride KIVA mentees receive 6 sessions (scheduled bi-weekly) over the course of 3 months.
What is the time commitment?
KIVA Resilience Mentoring Program includes: 1. 6 1:1 coaching sessions, 2. Member Log-in to KIVA Resilience Program (practice at home or on-the-go), weekly bite sized videos to inspire yoga life hacks & self-development, 3. Develop a POP Personal Operating Plan to tackle sticky life situations, 4. Becoming Project: unique to you...and a few more surprises over the course of 13 weeks.
I understand that life happens, if sessions cannot be done bi-weekly during the 13 week program you have a total of 4 months -from start date -to use your 6 1:1 sessions.

What's included in the coaching session?
Each online coaching session includes a type written summary of the recording, 'home play' to further your self-awareness along with a personalized practice to meet your current needs...AND individualized yoga life coaching.
Is there an app to access?
No, there is an online platform login. Clients receive members only access to KIVA: The Resilient Method platform via resilientsparkyoga.com from start date to 16 weeks/4 months.
Can I get a refund?
No. Clients receive access to a digital platform and personal development. If an unexpected situation comes up, client cases will be evaluated to determine the appropriate course of action best for both parties.
Do you have payment plans?
Yes, you have the options to pay in full or may opt to pay in 2-3-4 installments.
